From Fossil-based to Bio-Based
Innovation. Circularity. Solutions with less impact on people and planet.
The planet and its resources are under pressure, and it’s our responsibility to rethink how we design, produce, and care for clothing in ways that respect both children and the world they will inherit.
At Wheat, we are testing Pond Cycle® by Pond Biomaterials – a bio-based and bio-degradable material – on one of our most popular categories: thermo wear.
Why thermo wear?
Because it’s a wardrobe essential worn every day by children everywhere – and because it’s one of our largest categories by volume.
If we succeed here, it could mean the out-phasing of recycled polyester (rPET) – and the beginning of something truly impactful.
🌱 Pond Cycle® has the potential to move us beyond fossil-based fibers altogether. At the end of the day, kids will always need clothes – and they’ll always outgrow them fast. Our responsibility is to reimagine how we solve this challenge.
The goal of this project is simple: To make a real-world difference.
In a few months, we’ll have the final test results from our manufacturer, who is working hard to make this innovation a reality. The no. 1 success criteria of outerwear is protection and durability – and those standards must be met.
Good things take time ⏳
Please hang in there with us – we’re getting close!
